Braintree    Jean M. (Baracchini) Nicholson, 84 of Braintree formerly of South Weymouth passed away at the Hancock Park Rehabilitation Center in Quincy on Thursday Evening, October 12, 2017 after a long illness. Jean was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. After her marriage to Paul M. Nicholson she settled and raised her family in South Weymouth. Jean was a stay at home Mom who was devoted to her family. She had been a member of the Holy Family Parish in Rockland for 30 years where she would attend daily Mass. She was an avid participant in her church community. Jean was an inspiration to her family. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Paul M. Nicholson. Jean is the devoted and much loved mother of her six children, Paul F. Nicholson and his wife Shirley of Pembroke, Aline T. Hartnett and her husband Larry of Wellington, FLA., Linda J. Keough and her husband Michael of Sandwich, Donna M. Makaroff of Quincy, John A. Nicholson and his wife Kathy of Holbrook and Stephen E. Nicholson and his wife Chris of Columbus Ohio. She is the proud grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 2. Jean is the sister of Clare Dyer of Northborough and the late Ernest J. Baracchini, Jr. and the late Richard Baracchini. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Rogers) Baracchini.  Visiting hours for Jean will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree, MA on Thursday October 19th from 3-7pm. A gathering will be held at the funeral home on Friday October 20th at 8:00 A.M. to be followed by a funeral Mass at the Holy Family Parish, 403 Union Street, Rockland at 9:00am. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Rather than flowers the family sincerely requests that donations in Jean’s memory be sent to the Hancock Park Staff Appreciation Fund 164 Parkingway, Quincy, MA  02169
