George Michael Kelsch, age 68, of Rockland, died peacefully, Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the loving comfort of his adoring family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Shirley M. (McIver) Kelsch and his sons Brandon “Randy” M. Kelsch and his wife Dawn (Chase) Kelsch of Whitman, Bryan T. Kelsch and his wife Sharon L. (Nieters) Kelsch of Weymouth, and Trevor “TJ” J. Kelsch and his wife Kathyrn “Kathy” (Kabilian) Kelsch of Bridgewater. He was the doting “Papa” of Amelia, Ella, Samantha, Devin, Alyssa, Joshua, Amanda, Jennifer, and Andrew. George was born in Quincy to the late George H. and Eleanor B. (Nogueira) Kelsch. He was raised and educated in Weymouth and received his Associates Degree from Massasoit College. George was the beloved brother of Judith (Kelsch) Cirillo and her partner Butch Bettuchy. He was the loving uncle of Todd Cirillo and his wife Kristin Cirillo, and Troy Cirillo and his wife Maura, to their children he was the beloved uncle of Tyler, Madison, Katelyn, and Drew. George married and raised his three sons in Braintree where he began his career working for Bill’s Trucking Co. Shortly after retiring from trucking, George purchased a small video store in Weymouth, called Hometown Video. George’s passion was deep set in the game of baseball. He played catcher as a young man and coached his sons all through their childhood. When his sons outgrew the game, he continued to coach for the Braintree Babe Ruth League. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, March 15th, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm with a Catholic Prayer Service occurring between 7pm and 8pm at Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree. Burial will be private at a later date. Memorial Donations in George’s memory may be sent to Braintree Babe Ruth.
