WEYMOUTH - Garret McCarthy, 37, passed away unexpectedly in his home on April 21, 2019 Easter Sunday. He was born on February 6, 1982 in Quincy, MA and was raised in Quincy, Norwell, eventually settling in Weymouth. Garret was the son of Barbara McCarthy of Weymouth and the late Francis McCarthy, and stepson of Paul McCormick. He is also survived by his son Brayden McCarthy, brothers Ryan McCarthy of Weymouth, the late Colin McCarthy of Weymouth, sister Shannon Bell and her husband Keith Bell of Rockland, and his girlfriend Christine Garvey of Weymouth. Garret was the loving uncle to Alexis Pond, Cassidy McCarthy, and Charleigh Bell.
Garret was a Jack of all trades, working for Midnight Movers moving company, store manager at Chipotle, and worked as a plumber with Joe Jasset plumbing.
Garret was an avid sports fan, whether it be The Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, he loved it all. Garret also had a strong passion for music and there was hardly a time when he wouldn't be listening to it, or singing it himself. Garret also loved the outdoors and would frequently take walks whether it be at Webb Park, Pond Meadow Park, or the Quincy Quarries which he loved to explore.
Garret made friends anywhere he went, striking up conversation with everyone he passed and he had a heart of pure gold and would gladly give you the shirt off his back and would kindly help anyone who he saw struggling. He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.
