Frances Elaine (Saunders) Sullivan

BRAINTREE - Frances Elaine Sullivan of Braintree, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on February 25, 2019 in the comforts of her home.

She was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia on August 25, 1924, daughter of the late Reginald T. and Florence Ruth Ann Saunders. She spent most of her life residing in Braintree, Ma. and traveled often to Margaretsville, Nova Scotia, spending time with family and friends.

Frances was predeceased by her husband Howard A. Sullivan, her two daughters Susan E. and Donna A. Sullivan, and her eight brothers and sisters: Frank, Cardinal, Elizabeth, Reginald, and Roderick Saunders, Mary Brown, Anita Campbell, and Kathleen Hyson. She is survived by her children Darla Mahoney and husband Kevin of Weymouth, Ma., Kathleen Nickerson of Rockland, Ma., Howard Sullivan and wife Karen, Joan McDonough and husband Richard, and Walter Sullivan all of Braintree, Ma. She also leaves her loving nephews Jimmy Campbell of Hingham, MA, Rick Saunders of St. Louis, Missouri, several nieces, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Frances was a graduate of Acadia University, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, where she majored in Business. When she moved to the United States in 1948 she was a homemaker and she later worked for over 30 years at Joan’s Olympic Gym, Gymnastics and Dance School, where she will always be known as Ms. Fran.

She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures; attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events, feeding and watching the birds in her backyard, walks at Pond Meadow Park, Sunday drives to get ice cream, listening and dancing to music, and watching Wheel of Fortune, to name a few.

Public Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, March 1st, 4 to 8 PM, at the Braintree Peck Funeral Homes, 516 Washington Street.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in a Celebration of Frances’ Life on Saturday, March 2nd at 11:00 AM, Peck Funeral Homes, 516 Washington St. Braintree, MA, 02184, followed by burial at the Braintree Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
