BRAINTREE - Estelle M. (Hassam) Coughlin, 87 years of age, passed away peacefully at the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Weymouth, MA, on Friday May 19, 2017.  She was born at Oakland, Maine, the daughter of the late John Hassam and Geraldine Loomis Hassam.  She was the manager of the food counter of the well-known and well-loved Woolworth Store in Quincy.  Estelle was the beloved wife of the late Edward Joseph Coughlin and the devoted mother of Judith Hassam of Greenville, S.C. and Kimberly Hassam of Kingston, MA; Edward Coughlin of Weymouth and Christopher Coughlin of Braintree.  She is also survived by five grandchildren.  She was the sister of John Hassam, Jr. of Quincy and Mayhew Hassam of Maine.  Estelle enjoyed crocheting, artistic drawing in charcoal, and craft shows.  She also enjoyed music and singing.  Estelle was an excellent baker and preparer of foods.  Funeral Services will be private at Peck's Funeral Home in Braintree.  Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.  Arrangements made by the Peck Funeral Homes of Braintree and Weymouth, see www.peckservices.com for more information.
