Eleanor M (Crosby) Wallace

AMHERST, NH – Eleanor M. Wallace, 87 years old, passed away peacefully at her home in Amherst, NH on May 11, 2019. She was born in 1932 to her late parents James Crosby and Annie (Goodwin) Crosby. She was a long-term resident of Braintree, moving to Amherst in 2004 to be close to family. She was the beloved wife of the late John Wallace and of the late Gerald Visconti. She is survived by her children Gerald Visconti of Creal Springs, IL, Nancy Visconti of Plymouth, MA Barbara Anderson of Norwell, MA, Isabelle Bibbo of Manchester, NH, and Julie Fischofer of Amherst, NH. Eleanor leaves behind 3 sisters; Barbara Harris of Nashua, NH, Isabelle Brown of Atlantic City, NJ and Kathryn Pontz of Wareham. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Eleanor is preceded in death by her two brothers William Crosby and Frederick Crosby and by her sisters Lillian Wallace, Phyllis Holst, and Caroline Newell. Eleanor was a longtime member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church where she served as the director of the altar guild, was a member of the vestry and of St. Mary’s Guild. She enjoyed volunteering at many of the church festivals and fairs. She loved to read, travel and enjoyed the beach, spending many vacations at Cape Cod with her family. Eleanor had a deep love for people especially for her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday May 16th, at the Braintree Peck Funeral Homes 516 Washington St.  The Funeral Service will be on Friday May 17th, at 11:00 AM at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Washington St. Donations in her memory may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 519 Washington Street in Braintree, MA.
