Dorothy E. (Charles) Anderson, 94, of Quincy, passed away at the John Scott House in Braintree on Thursday November 16, 2017 after a long illness. Dorothy was born in Dorchester and had attended Boston schools. After her marriage she moved to Quincy in 1954. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and was devoted to her family. Dorothy had been a member of the Braintree Art Association and enjoyed painting with oils. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond H. Anderson, Sr. who died in 2005. She is the loving Mother of Raymond H. Anderson, Jr and his partner Mary Reis of Quincy and Bruce W. Anderson of Bonita Springs, Florida. She is the proud Grandmother of 5 and several Great Grandchildren. Dorothy was the sister of the late Arnold Charles, Walter Charles, Gilbert Charles and Barbara Ford. She is survived by a sister-in-law Florence Charles of Dorchester. Visiting hours for Dorothy will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street on Monday November 20th from 11:00am-1:00pm. A funeral will service will be held immediately following the visiting hours at 1:00pm at the funeral home. The Reverend Father Clifford Brown, Rector of Christ Church, Quincy will officiate. The family encourages that memorial donations in Dorothy’s memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452
