Barbara C Conroy

BRAINTREE - Barbara Corinne Conroy, 96, passed away on March 22, 2018, at the John Scott House & Rehabilitation Center in Braintree, MA. She was a lifelong resident of Braintree and the daughter of Albert P. and Jennie H. (Aitken) Nelson. She was a graduate of Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Quincy City Hospital as an RN in labor and delivery and later in the newborn nursery. 

        After her retirement she traveled all over the world, including trips to Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, the Galápagos Islands and to many states in the US. She enjoyed and excelled at knitting, sewing, gardening and cooking, and loved to spend time with her family.

        Barbara was predeceased by her husband, William D. Conroy and two brothers, William and Paul Nelson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and David Lindsay of Merrimack, NH, grandchildren Chris Lindsay-Abaire and her husband David of Brooklyn, NY, Douglas Lindsay and his wife Karen of Bedford, NH, Deborah Coppola and her husband Michael of Mount Pleasant, SC, Jennie Lindsay-Kelley and her wife Andrea of Braintree, William Lindsay and his partner Luke of Queens, NY, and David Lindsay, Jr., and his girlfriend Beth, of Waltham, MA, and seven great-grandchildren.

       Donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 6th, from 4 to 7 pm, at the Mortimer N. and Russell F. Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., Braintree MA 02184. Burial of her urn will take place in May at the Village Cemetery.
