Arthur Raymond Pessa, 91, of Braintree passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday evening, December 19, 2017. Arthur was born in Boston and raised in Roslindale where he received his education. Arthur joined the Navy during World War II and served aboard the US Bennington. After his Navy service he graduated from Wentworth Institute and was then was employed by a design Company as a design engineer until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement Arthur and his wife Marie enjoyed spending winters in Vero Beach, Florida. Arthur and Marie, the love of his life, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past November 15th. Arthur is the beloved husband of Marie A. (Delaney) Pessa. He is the devoted and loving father of Michele Pessa, Marc Pessa and Valerie Pessa-DeLorey. Arthur is blessed with six grandchildren, Danny, Joe, Greg and Giovanna Pessa and Jessica and Nikki DeLorey. Visiting hours for Arthur will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street on Friday, December 22, from 4-7 pm. A Catholic Prayer service will be held on Saturday, December 23rd at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private. Rather than flowers Arthur’s family sincerely requests that donations in his memory may be sent to The Norwell Visiting Nurse and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.
