Arline Yule (Smith) Pillsbury

Weymouth - Arline Y. Pillsbury, 93, passed away at the South Shore Hospital, in the presence of her loving family, on July 12th, 2018.  She was the wife of the late Richard Mills Pillsbury.  She was the daughter of the late James William Yule Smith and his wife, the late Dorothy Holmes.  She was the devoted mother of Denise Rene Oteri of East Weymouth.  She leaves behind her grandchildren, Lawrence Edward Papile, of Middleboro; Angelica Marie Burkett of Lexington, SC; the late Krystle Lee Papile of Weymouth.  She also leaves behind her beloved five great-grandchildren.  Arline worked for Dale Carnegie in Massachusetts, as his secretary.  She also was a seamstress.  She worked in Shaw's bakery and loved helping make confectionary and baked items.  She was the manager of Campbell's Hallmark Store in Weymouth.  She loved to travel.  She was a member of the Recreation Club, the Weymouth Council on Aging, the Old Colony Club and the former President of the Quincy Republican Club for Young Women.  Her latest position was participating in the Share Program with the Council on Aging.  She also was a member of the "Order to Preserve the American Indian Culture."  She was very proud of her Pilgrim Heritage.  And she loved to make people laugh and smile.  Arline was a graduate of the Wollaston School as well as of North Quincy High School and Massasoit.  She was also a graduate of the Burdett College.  Contributions can be made to the South Shore Hospice, 100 Bay State Dr., Braintree, MA 02184.  The visiting hours will be from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M. on Tuesday July 17th, 2018, at the Weymouth Mortimer N. Peck Funeral Chapels.  On July 17th at 5:00 to 5:30 there will be a brief Christian Prayer Service by Pastor Chris Willis, of the Discovery Church of Boston.
