WEST QUINCY - Anna T. Flaherty, 92, of West Quincy, passed away on Friday, February 23rd, 2018, after a brief illness.  Anna was born in West Quincy, MA and graduated from Quincy High School.  She was a clerical worker for the Federal Government at the Fargo Building, in Boston.  She was the beloved daughter of the late John J. and Mary T. Flaherty, and sister of the late Mary E. Flaherty.  Anna was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in West Quincy. Anna enjoyed being active in senior events on the South Shore.  She enjoyed going to Mass every morning at St. Mary's church.  She loved animals and most especially her miniature Collie dog, “King". She loved going on local nature walks. She leaves behind her cousins, Ann T. (Nancy) Welch of Abington, Virginia (Ginnie) Arienti of Braintree, Robert (Bob) Welch and his wife, Janet of Taunton, and John Welch of Quincy and their families.  A visiting hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 115 Crescent St, W. Quincy on Monday, March 5th, 2018. Burial will follow at the Hall Cemetery 85 Crescent St., W. Quincy. The family of Anna Flaherty would appreciate donations made in her name to the Weymouth VCA South Shore Animal Hospital located at 595 Columbian Street, South Weymouth, MA 02190.
