BRAINTREE - Alda Esther Cyphers (Harrison) entered the arms of her Lord surrounded by family on Monday, December 17th, at the age of 83.  She is pre-deceased by her husband, Stafford H. Cyphers of Braintree, Shirley Russell (Harrison) of Chelmsford, MA and Stafford D. Cyphers of Lynn, MA.  She is survived by Eric Scott Cyphers of Braintree, Morris J. Harrison of Gilford NH and his children, Allan Harrison of Maine, Nancy Harrison Lenk of NH, and Donna Harrison Kelly of MA and her children.

Alda lived entirely for her family.  Married 24 years, she was the devoted wife of Stafford H. until his passing in 1998.  She gracefully loved her late stepson, Stafford D. until his passing in 2012. And she loved and lived for her son, Eric Scott Cyphers, with all her heart until the day she left this earth.

She was born on October 6th, 1935 in Somerville, Ma to William and Cora Harrison.  Alda received a GED from Somerville High School and went on to become an LPN at Somerville Hospital.  After marriage, she worked evenings at Sears Roebuck to spend more time with family during the day.  She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother, Sunday School Teacher, Past President of the South Shore DeMolay Mother’s Club in Weymouth, and a proud member of the Citizen’s Police Academy in Braintree.  She enjoyed reading, particularly anything involving the Winter Hill Gang, Queen Elizabeth II, or Harry Potter.  She also loved painting and drawing.  And she had fond memories for Prince Edward Island and the Harrison Mountain Homestead in New Brunswick, Canada.

Visiting hours will be from 4 - 8 PM on Wednesday, December 26 at Peck Funeral Homes, 516 Washington St., Braintree, MA.  A funeral service will be held at 10 AM at the Union Congregational Church, 74 Commercial St., Braintree, MA on Thursday December 27th.  Burial will follow at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree.
