John (Jack) Timothy Mullane Jr.

John “Jack” Timothy Mullane, Jr., 85 years of age, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 27, 2024.  Jack was born on November 1, 1938, to the late John and Catherine Mullane.

Jack was a lifelong resident of the Boston area. Born in Dorchester, MA, Jack moved to Braintree in 1967 after purchasing a home there, where he raised his family. Jack is survived by his devoted and loving wife of almost 61 years, Ellen Mullane, his oldest son John Bannister Mullane (partner Lisa Butterfield), and his youngest son Gregory Francis Mullane.

Jack’s occupation was primarily in the financial services industry, having spent the bulk of his career working at the Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company, and State Street Bank and Trust Company.  Jack was very proud of his military service, serving six years in a combination of active and reserve status in the U.S. Navy.  During his active service, he was primarily deployed to Greenland and the Mediterranean Sea.  Jack was known for his witty sense of humor.  In his spare time, he loved to read and was interested in military history and politics.  Jack loved to spend time with his family.  

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree, MA. Funeral service will be on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:00am at Peck Funeral Chapels, 516 Washington Street, Braintree, MA.
