Mildred G. Houmiller

Mildred G. (Glover) Houmiller, 91, of Braintree, passed away peacefully at the John Scott House Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Braintree on Thursday, March 29, 2018 after a brief illness. Millie was born in Dedham and was a Dedham High School Graduate. She went on to graduate from Business School in Boston. After her marriage Millie and her husband, Howard moved to Braintree in 1951. She became the Church Secretary at the South Congregational Church of Braintree in 1957 until her retirement in 1995. Millie was an active member of the Viking Club of Braintree where she loved to dance. Millie was also a world Traveler and an avid gardener. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard Victor Houmiller who passed away in 1992. Millie is the loving Mother of Christian D. Houmiller married to Maureen of Sullivan, Maine, Tina Gebhard who was married to the late Jeffery of Laconia, N.H., Carey D. Houmiller married to Nancy of Westford, MA, and Caroline A. Medina married to Jorge Medina Sgt. 1st Class Army Retired of Junction City, KS. She is the proud Grandmother of Kimberly Boresma, Andrew J. Houmiller, Ryan D. Houmiller, Maria Victoria Medina, Zenaida Medina, Alejandro Medina and the late David Houmiller. Millie is also the loving Great-Grandmother of 10. She was the sister of the late Charles Glover. Visiting hours for Millie will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Wednesday April 4th from 4-7pm. A Funeral service will be held at the South Congregational Church, 1075 Washington Street, Braintree on Thursday April 5th at 11:00 am. Pastor Scott Killian will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date. Rather than flowers Millie’s family has requested that donations in her memory may be sent to The South Congregational Church, 1075 Washington Street, Braintree, MA 02184 or The Viking Club, 410 Quincy Avenue, Braintree, MA 02184 or to the Charity of your choice.
