Braintree- Margaret “Peg” Matthews (MacAllister) Bardsley, 93 years of age, a longtime resident of Braintree, passed away at her home on Saturday, Jan 7, 2017. She is survived by her beloved husband Charles “Chuck” J. Bardsley. Peg was the devoted mother of Doug Bardsley of North Smithsfield, R.I. and the late Mary Margaret (Bardsley) Coady who died in 1986. Peg was the sister of the late Agnes Nichol, Grace Peterson, and Robert MacAllister She was born in Braintree and graduated from Quincy High School. Peg was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Braintree where she belonged to the Sodalitas Society and had sung in the choir. She participated in many other church activities. She enjoyed playing golf, especially at the Strawberry Valley Golf Course in Whitman. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home on Monday, January 16th from 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 17th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
