Linnie Eva (Burdick) Dixon, 83, of Braintree passed away at the Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Linnie was born in Nantucket and was educated in Boston. She was a graduate of the Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester. Linnie worked for many years as a waitress for the Holiday Inn of Cambridge and later she was employed by BJ’s wholesale club for 15 years as a demonstrator until her retirement. She moved to Braintree in 1976. She was the beloved wife of the late George Dixon who passed away in 2006. Linnie is the loving mother of Mark A. Dixon and his wife Donna of Wakefield and Debra Benoit also of Wakefield. She is the devoted Grandmother of Stephen G. Benoit, Jr. married to Amy of Carver, Minnesota, Stacy L. Benoit of St. Cloud, Florida, Scott A. Dixon married to Corinne of Revere, Alyssa Dixon of Los Angeles, California and Jason of Arizona. Linnie is survived by 7 Great Grandchildren, Emily, Sam, Gaby, Christian, Joseph, Allana and Vincent. Linnie will be remembered by her family as the best Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother in the whole world. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Friday February 16, 2018 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The Funeral service will follow the visiting hours at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Memorial Donations in Linnie’s memory may be sent to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
