WEYMOUTH- McGowan, John J (Jack) age 82 passed into eternal life on Monday, January 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. John grew up in Boston’s Allston section moving to Weymouth in 1968. He was a graduate of Brighton High School and Boston College (1956). He retired from BayBank-Bank Boston as a Vice President in 1997 after 35 years. John was an avid jogger and enjoyed ballroom dancing, cribbage, poker and crossword puzzles. He enjoyed all sports and the Boston Celtics were his favorite. John enjoyed singing in the men’s choir at Immaculate Conception Church and volunteered delivering meals on wheels for many years. Husband of the late Joan C. McGowan, he leaves four sons: Scott and his wife Gail of Londonderry, N.H., Stephen and his wife Jamie of Pembroke, Brian and Laura of Lawrence, and John D (Jake) and his wife Alyssa of Marshfield. He also leaves 7 grandchildren: Scott, Kelly, Andy, Mitchell, Nate, Braeden and Casey. He was predeceased by two sisters: Pat of Nevada and Maureen of Florida. Visiting hours will held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Friday, January 20th from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21st  at Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Broad Street, East Weymouth at 12:00 Noon. Those attending the mass are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be private.
