Irene B (McNally) Ryan

Irene B. “Renee” (McNally) Ryan 72 wife of the late George W. Ryan Jr. of Weymouth, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 after a brief illness.  Irene was born in Boston and raised in the parishes of St. Paul and St. Patrick’s. She later moved with her husband “Sonny” and their children to Weymouth. For over twenty-six years she was employed as a waitress at Pizza Hut in Norwell and Quincy; retiring in 2011. She was the youngest of ten children and was known as “the matriarch” of her large family. Irene very much enjoyed spending quality time with her seven granddaughters, who she would tell individually “you know you are my favorite”.  Always full of life and laughter, she enjoyed karaoke, bingo and being with family. Generous heart, incredible wit, and a mischievous spirit. Irene will be deeply missed, remaining in our hearts forever. Devoted and loving mother of George W. Ryan III and his wife Melissa of Los Angeles, Martina M. Diamond and her husband Michael of Weymouth.  James M. Ryan of Weymouth, Robert T. Ryan and his wife Eileen of Braintree, and She was the proud grandmother of seven granddaughters: Jacqueline, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Kristin, Emma, Lindsey, Ciara.  Also survived by her sister Mary Louise Ciccolo of Dorchester. Including numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by Kathryn F. Nemet, James, Thomas, Edward, Robert, Richard, Garrett, and Kevin McNally. Visiting hours will be held at Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street, Braintree, on Monday, January 29, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM.  There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 30th, at 9:00 AM to be followed by a funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church 720 Broad Street, E. Weymouth, MA at 10:00 AM  Burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 P.M. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Mitoaction.org P. O.
