Gladys Curry Obituary

Gladys Ann (Jordan) Curry, 87, of Braintree, retired office manager for Braintree Electric Light Department, died Monday, February 12, 2018 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. Gladys was born in Quincy and was a Graduate of North Quincy High School class of 1948. Early in her career she had been employed by the Pneumatic Scale Corp. formerly of Quincy, she then went on to become the office manager at Braintree Electric Light Company until her retirement. Gladys married and moved to Braintree in 1953 where she resided until 2015. After her retirement Gladys enjoyed painting and spending time with her Grand-Daughters. She was the beloved wife of the late John T. Curry, a Braintree Firefighter who passed away in 1960. She is the loving Mother of John J. Curry married to Marilyn S. Klauber of Franklin and Sandra L. Curry of Danville, California. Gladys was the proud Grandmother of Meredith Curry and Silvia Curry both of Franklin. She is survived by a brother, A. Allen Jordan and his wife Beverly of Wollaston and a sister Emily E. Davis of Holbrook. She was the sister of the late Phyllis E. Inglis formerly of Braintree, the late Herbert W. Jordan formerly of Phoenix, Arizona and the late Hubbard E. Jordan formerly of East Bridgewater. Gladys also leaves several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services were held on February 14, 2018. Arrangements were made by the Peck Funeral Home of Braintree.
