George Francis Woods

Of Braintree, 58 years of age, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Boston Medical Center as a result of a car accident.  He was born in Somerville and was raised in Charlestown and Braintree.  He graduated from Braintree High School with the Class of 1974.  George resided in Braintree for 45 years. During his entire working career, he was an Iron Worker and had been employed by the Boston Ship Repair Company.  He had also been employed by the General Dynamics Corporation.  He was a Member of the Iron Workers Union.  He is survived by his daughter Jeanette Nichole Woods of Braintree.  He was the loving son of Thomas James Woods and Patricia Ann (Wager) Woods of Braintree.  He was the loving brother of Thomas J. Woods Jr of Braintree, Candice M. Podell of Holbrook and Patricia A. O’Hare of Braintree.  He is survived by a granddaughter Patricia Rae-Ann Rutherford of Braintree, by a niece Pamela Podell and by a nephew Edward Podell, III both of Holbrook.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, South Braintree Square on Monday, January 13th at 12:00 Noon.  Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.  The visiting hour will be private at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street Braintree.
