Elizabeth M (Malcolm) Gilcoine

Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Malcolm) Gilcoine, 71 of Braintree passed away at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Betty was born in Boston and Raised in South Boston. Betty had worked at various jobs throughout her working life but her favorite job was hairdressing which she practiced at many area salons. She moved to Weymouth with her family in 1978 and then moved to Braintree where she has resided since 1994. Betty loved gardening and was an avid bird watcher she also loved going to Foxwoods. Betty was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Betty was the wife of the late Gerald Gilcoine. She is the Beloved Mother of Michelle A. Gilcoine of Braintree, Robert J. Gilcoine and his wife Joni of Holbrook and Kathleen Sampson of Marshfield. Betty is the devoted Grandmother of Courtney Elizabeth Gilcoine and Dillon Robert Gilcoine and the proud Great Grandmother of Logan Robert Gilcoine and Christian Michael Fenno. Betty was sister to the late David Malcolm and Margaret Wilson. She was also the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Knightly) Malcolm. Visiting hours for Betty will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. There will be a Catholic Prayer Service held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 29th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial Donations in Betty’s memory may be sent to the Dana Farber Cancer Center at South Shore Hospital, 101 Columbian Street, South Weymouth, MA 02190
