BRAINTREE- Eileen M. (White) Milch, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, IL where she was raised and received her education.  She went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from DePaul University in Chicago. In 1987, she received her Master’s Degree from Emmanuel College in Boston. She was an elementary school teacher in Chicago for 3 years before moving to Braintree 65 years ago. Eileen was a substitute teacher in the Braintree Public Schools before teaching in the Weymouth Public Schools, at both the Pratt and Nash Elementary Schools for 29 years prior to her retirement in 1996. Eileen was also a director for St. Joseph’s Church of Somerville. She was in charge of CCD and Confirmation classes, as well as an AA counselor. Eileen was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Braintree. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Milch. She was the devoted mother of Laurel Forst of Greenwich, CT, Holly Olson married to Carl Olson of Holbrook, Charles “Chuck” Milch married to Nancy of Amherst, MA, John Milch married to Elizabeth of Weymouth, Gerard Milch married to Joni of Middleboro, James Milch married to Jean of Marshfield, Kennan “Ken” Milch married to Shauri of Salt Lake City, UT, Heather Dittman of Abington, and Christopher P. Holka-Milch married to David S. Milch-Holka of Braintree. Eileen was the proud grandmother of 34 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Joan White, Carol White, her brothers Jack White, and Bill White all of Michigan. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Monday, April 17th from 4-8pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 18th at 9:30am to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St .Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery. Memorial donations in Eileen’s memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
