NORTH ANDOVER- Deirdre G.Forsythe, 77, diedMay 29th with friends and family with her. A Memorial Service will be held atthe Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street,Braintree on Saturday, June 9th at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours will beheld on Friday, June 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Dee was born inPennsylvania to Margaret and Ellsworth Giles and later moved to Long Island, NYwhere she grew up. During her childhood she would spend summers on the ArnoldFarm in Braintree, MA playing with her cousin Roger Arnold who was a lifelongfriend. Like her mother and many in the Arnold family she went to TuftsUniversity and majored in English. There she was inspired by the poet JohnHolmes who taught there and found her passion in the publishing field. In hersenior year she became the editor of the school paper. After a brief returnhome she moved to her adopted city Boston for good. She met her future husbandJames Forsythe who worked at the Boston Herald and lived in Brookline aftergetting married until moving to Rockland, Ma to raise a family. Her husbanddied in 1980 and she stayed there until moving up to North Andover to be closeto her son and grandchildren. By the 1980s she had become involved with desktoppublishing and the Macintosh. She joined a Mac Users group that would laterbecame the Virtual Harbor online community with which she remained lifelongfriends with sharing her love of sports especially golf, photography and allthings Macintosh. In her time in North Andover she enjoyed playing golf withfriends at the Middleton Golf Course where she scored a hole in one andcontributing to the North Andover Historical Society creating several photoexhibits for the town. Deirdre is survived by her son Colt and his companionTracy, her two grandchildren Christopher and Gwendolyn, her cousin Roger andJeanette Arnold, and her Aunt Betty Lou Arnold who she loved dearly and herchildren Dane, Scott, Erin, and Lisa and their families.  And her friends Clyde Ruprecht, Brud Arthur, Geraldand Janet Condon, Pat and Toni Cannon, Pat King, Jackie Brooks, Richard Scott,Mike and Mary Farrell, Kenn Fong, Madeleine Sutcliffe, and her friends atMcCabe Court. She is also survived by her friends Susan Addis, Roz Ault, SueBarnette, Mike Barns, Pat Brentani, Bruce Dean, Karl Eklund, Peter Frumkin,Bill Gerber, John Hayes, Chuck Heath, Jerry Hubeny, Robert Huntington, VanceKoven, Neil Maller, Pat Moore, Gordon Perry, Dennis Piechota, Mark Sandrof,Fred Sheffler, Nelia White, and Vedder Wright of the Virtual Harbor onlinecommunity. Deirdre also leaves behind her friends Kathy Stevens, Carol Majahad,and Anne Ericson of the North Andover Historical Society.  Memorial Donations may be sent to the NorthAndover Historical Society, 153 Academy Road, North Andover, MA 01845.*
