Brian J. Loreth

September 8, 1953 ~ August 30, 2016 (age 62) 62 Years Old

HAVERHILL- Brian J. Loreth passed away peacefully on August 30, 2016 with his loving family at his side. Brian was born in Boston, MA, and is the son of Eugene J. Loreth and the late Margaret T. Loreth. Brian was a graduate of Braintree High School Class of 1971, and graduated magna cum laude from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1999 with a degree in Design Engineering. Brian worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Smith and Nephew, where he designed and holds numerous patents for medical devices. Brian lived a very active lifestyle, that included riding motorcycles, running, and lifting weights. He achieved a level of fifth degree black belt in karate, and was a licensed commercial diver. Brian’s children were the most important thing in his life and he loved spending time with each of them. Brian enjoyed blasting through the curves of the Blue Hills with his daughter Christine on their Ninja’s, playing guitar with his son Evan, attending Shakespeare on the Common with his daughter Chantal, visiting North Carolina where his daughter Elysia lives, and swimming with his stepson Nacor. Brian was predeceased by his mother Margaret and sister Jeanie. He is survived by his wife Nadary E. Loreth, daughters Christine M. Loreth, Chantal B. Loreth, and Elysia M. Loreth, son Evan J. Loreth, their loving mother Diane M. Loreth, stepson Nacor Loreth; father Eugene J. Loreth; brothers Michael J. Loreth, Daniel F. Loreth; and sister Cathy M. Follett. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Thursday, September 1st from 5-8pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Hampshire Street, Lawrence on Friday, September 2nd at 1pm. Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial donations in Brian’s memory may be sent to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Mass General Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114-1101.
